University of Cincinnati outfielder Ian Happ was the first player with Pennsylvania ties to be called Monday at the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft. The switch-hitting Happ, a junior from Mt. Lebanon High School, became the Bearcats' first player selected in the first round when the Chicago Cubs took him 9th overall. He hit .449 during his high school career and spent two titanic seasons in the prestigious Cape Cod League. Happ's slot value is roughly $3.35 million. Stroudsburg High School pitcher Mike Nikorak was the first Pennsylvania pitcher to be drafted.
